I have always had an interest in storytelling and I have collected some tales over the years.  I think sharing stories is a part of the purpose of the library.  In this age of information, I think digital storytelling will provide new opportunities and new audiences.  I have examples of  digital storytelling projects that I created (just for fun and as an example for students) at http://www.janestorm.com/ethridgelibrary/Writing.html Maybe someone will stumble upon them and want to create a tale of their own!

I edit this blogpost from 2006 many years later to add this PS. The janestorm site no longer exists. This is one of the perils on digital culture. Our rights are fluid and fleeting- unlike the dead sea scrolls unearthed after centuries. We can lose so much of our content as formats change and digital archive is an essential element of digital citizenship. The storytelling projects are now lost (as many of my early machinima recordings are lost due to the death of early video hosting sites and computer upgrades). ~Valibrarian 2023
